Ivan founded an engineering company Roil Trade in 1996 and has been leading the R&D since.

Ivan has worked in chemistry & technology for 43 years. Prior to founding Roil Trade, he worked in complex crude oil refinery Slovnaft in a variety of roles in the production department, from Ethylene Plant Operator, Downstream R&D Department Specialist through to critical roles including Manager of Refinery Control Centre and Director of the Ecology Plants.

His unique background and inquisitive nature led Ivan to develop technological solutions for processing, recycling and upgrading of the low value hydrocarbons materials and waste from crude-oil products. The application of this technology has been later broadened to additional use cases, such as upgrading the natural and refinery heavy hydrocarbons.

Ivan was born in Slovakia and graduated from the University of Chemistry and Technology specialising in ‘Chemistry and Technology of Crude Oil and Petrochemistry‘. He holds a PhD degree in Advances in Petrochemistry.
